Three Lakes Wildlife Management Area

Three Lakes Wildlife Management Area Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Named for its three border lakes—Kissimmee, Jackson, and Marian— Three Lakes offers hunting, fishing, birding, hiking, horseback riding, and off-road biking. In the WMA, the only boat ramp is on the smallest lake, Jackson, but ramps for Kissimmee and Marian are located just outside the WMA boundaries. There are nearly 30 miles of trail and 25 miles of the Florida National Scenic Trail pass through. Flat stretches of dry prairie attract off-road cyclists and Three Lakes contains one the largest dry prairies remaining in the U.S. Still, thunderstorms can turn the area into a bog.

Try the 10-mile interpretive trail; maps are available at the entrance kiosk. Camping options are complex on this WMA as hunting seasons in the fall, winter, and spring require that recreational campers call ahead for a permit and for information about regulated activities and your own safety."
