Nest Keys Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This journey follows a sheltered route from Key Largo through Tarpon Basin and Little Buttonwood Sound to Porjoe Key, an excellent bird-watching area. From Porjoe there is an open crossing of about 2 miles to the Nest Keys, notable as one of the best places in the keys to see roseate spoonbills.

The route crosses into Everglades National Park. Depending on wind conditions, you have two alternative return routes: the reverse of the outward route or via the Boggies into Blackwater Sound and then either to cut directly across the sound to your starting point or to follow the southern shore back."
