Nassau and Duval Counties Professional Review and Guide

"The St. Marys originates in Okefenokee Swamp and winds 130
miles before emptying into the Atlantic Ocean. Fishing Index: The freshwater part of the river has excellent striped bass fishing (the best of local rivers) in February and March. These are native Atlantic stock fish. They come into the river to spawn. Good places to try are around the pilings of the US 1, US 17, and I-95 bridges. Bass and bream fishing is good to excellent.

This eTrail covers 11 different fishing destinations in these Florida counties including St. Marys River, Fort Clinch State Park, Fernandina Beach, Amelia Island State Recreation Area, Nassau River, Nassau Sound Bridge, Big Talbot Island and Little Talbot Island State Parks, Jacksonville Urban Ponds, Mayport, St. Johns River (River Mouth to Buckman / I-295 Bridge), and Jacksonville Beach Pier."
