Little Talbot Island State Park Campground

Little Talbot Island State Park Campground Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Little Talbot Island State Park is one of the area parks collectively known as the Talbot Islands State Parks. In addition to Little Talbot, there is Big Talbot Island, Long Island, Fort George Island, and Amelia Island State Recreation Area. Little Talbot has a 40-unit campground that serves as a well-placed base camp for exploring the beaches, marshlands, and the history of the locale.

The campground is across FL A1A from the ocean and backs up to a salt marsh. The forest here is fairly thick, a mixture of slash pine, live oak, red cedar, southern magnolia, and palm. An understory of American holly, saw palmetto, and yaupon (another type of holly) provides fine campsite buffers and breaks up the campground."

This is actually one of the most fun trails I have riden. The trail is a large loop around the park and is a great trail for beginners and intermediate riders. There are plenty of steep hills and sharp curves that will keep you on your toes. The trails tend to have tree roots that will also make for a fun time.
The campgrounds are very nice, allowing for Ft. Clinch to be a weekend get-away for those working their way through the many Florida trails.

Word of caution, the trail is better riden in the afternoon after the Banana Spiders have been cleared by other riders.
