Pa-Hay-Okee Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The name pahayokee comes from the language of the Seminole and translates to “great grass water.” Bring your camera because this elevated overlook gives you the opportunity to see, and better appreciate, the vastness of the region that famed author Marjory Stoneman Douglas called a “River of Grass.”"

Pa-Hay-Okee Overlook Trail is a Trail around the road of the Everglades. Those are very simple trails: you stay on wood platform to observe wildlife and that is the interesting thing.
I was a little disappointed by the Pa-Hay-Okee Overlook Trail.Normally you have the most beautiful view for the sunset. Maybe it wasn't a very good day for sunset or maybe because the marshland was dry, I wasn't amazed. It's nice but nothing more.
Try instead the Anhinga trail where the wildlife is amazing. See my review in Along the Park Road - Everglades National Park.
