Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Paddle through bays and estuarine tidal creeks that traverse mangrove habitat. There are scenic views along tidal creeks and across open bays with opportunities to view birds, American alligators, American crocodiles, West Indian manatees, bottlenose dolphins, ospreys, bald eagles, and other wildlife of the region.

The trailhead is located inside the park at the surface ramp along the Blackwater River. You must register at the ranger station before you launch, and you must have all required safety equipment (one life jacket per person; whistle; flashlight).
