"Paddle through bays and estuarine tidal creeks that traverse mangrove habitat. There are scenic views along tidal creeks and across open bays with opportunities to view birds, American alligators, American crocodiles, West Indian manatees, bottlenose dolphins, ospreys, bald eagles, and other wildlife of the region.
The trailhead is located inside the park at the surface ramp along the Blackwater River. You must register at the ranger station before you launch, and you must have all required safety equipment (one life jacket per person; whistle; flashlight). Canoe rentals are available from a concessionaire inside the park, but you must have your own canoe or kayak if you plan to camp in the backcountry. Canoe rentals come with one life jacket per person, one fl otation device (throwable cushion) per canoe, and one paddle per person."
