Bear Creek Trail Professional Reviews and Guides

"This is the longest and hilliest loop in the Bear Creek Tract of Lake Talquin State Forest. Begin by traveling the interpretive Talking Trees Trail. The Bear Creek Trail then takes you along the botanically rich valley of Bear Creek before winding through upland hardwoods and pines, which are being restored through prescribed fire. A backcountry campsite adds overnight possibilities.

This hike is the “physical education” class at Bear Creek
Educational Forest. You will see the classroom building, map room, restrooms, and picnic shelter at the trailhead. The 3-plus-mile trek explores the forest from one end to the other and uses the hilly terrain to enhance the biodiversity of the hike as well as make it more challenging for those who take it on."

Excellent place to take a nice hike and see natural Florida. This trail is at the end of the very easy paved education trail from the parking lot. Excellent place to take a nice hike and see natural Florida. Trails are well marked and will give you a good work out, Take the Ravine Trail and enjoy a longer hike. The DNR has marked many of the native plant species along the trail.
