Black Island Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This trip threads through protected waterways in a barrier island area in Estero Bay, with the option of venturing onto the Gulf coast beach. The west-facing Gulf beach is a good vantage point for watching the sunset.

This is a sheltered trip with a good chance of seeing wildlife. The route circles the Lovers Key State Park. Constantly changing, the mangroves and sheltered waters provide breeding grounds for small fish, insects and crabs, drawing larger creatures in to feed. It is a good place to see wildlife."
