Lighthouse Levee Trail

Lighthouse Levee Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Lighthouse Levee Trail is a short and easy hike but one that provides an amazing experience for young and old alike. Walking atop the levee, you will have sweeping views of Apalachee Bay, Gulf and marsh impoundments, and one of the most photographed lighthouses in Florida. Not to mention you will also be surrounded by wildlife. You may see dolphins plying the waters in the bay, view a wide variety of butterflies, or be surprised by the bellow of a mama alligator only yards from the trail.

The Lighthouse Levee Trail at St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge is a short hike but oh so sweet. There is so much packed into this 1-mile out-and-back that kids of all ages will enjoy it. It’s just short enough for the young ones and has enough to keep even the fussy kids engaged—and parents, too."
