Robinson Preserve Loop Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The Robinson Preserve Loop is an amazing walk over dirt and gravel footpaths and elevated boardwalks through wetlands teeming with birds like great blue heron, egret, wood stork, dowitcher, and the beautiful red-hued roseate spoonbill. The walk is highlighted by a bird’s-eye view of the wetlands from atop a five-story observation tower.
Along the banks of Tampa Bay is a 487-acre tract of land that at one time was nothing more than “disturbed farmland.” There was nothing here except acres of invasive species of plants like Australian pine and Brazilian pepper trees. But in 2008 that all changed. The owners of the property, the Robinson family, had plans to convert the land into an eighteen-hole golf course and subdivision, but being conservationists at heart, they decided at the last minute to change their mind."
