Caloosahatchee Regional Park Campground Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This recreation area on the shores of the Caloosahatchee River is a favorite of mine. Not only does it have a great campground with excellent walk-in tent sites (and a few duds), but it also offers recreational opportunities that outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy.

These include first-rate hiking trails directly adjacent to the campground, plus paddling opportunities not only in the Caloosahatchee River but also in nearby creeks that feed the river. Mountain bikers have an additional set of trails that they will find challenging. A manatee viewing area, known simply as Manatee Park, is on the way to the campground and is worth a stop."

Good Florida car camping spot. I wouldn't camp here during hunting season unless I was hunting!
Sites are huge and well wooded, not that there was anyone else there...five stars except for the fact you can hear Alligator Alley to the south. Still dry season, so no bugs to speak of. Gators, deer, owls, swallow tailed kites, and best of all no racoon raid.
Great base camp for mtn bike or ATV expeditions, the trails are extensive.
