Most of the campgrounds in DV are nice, but Emigrant is an armpit. Set just a few yards from the highway it consists of 10 picnic tables crammed together on a rocky, shadeless bench. The sites aren't even flat. You'll find yourself elbow-to-elbow with your neighbor, so at least you'll have someone to commiserate with. You're much better off filling up at the (foul-tasing) water spigot and seeking out a primitive spot of your own.
