Norman G. Wilder Wildlife Area Loop Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"A long, easy walk on dirt fire roads through mature forests and upland swamps in an area managed for wildlife. Named for a notable Delaware conservationist and wildlife biologist, Norman G. Wilder Wildlife Area is a preserve managed primarily for hunting.
The trails are well- maintained fire roads, closed to vehicles, that pass through fields, forests, and swamps protected to provide habitat for game. During the hunting seasons, September through January, a trip here would be ill advised. But the rest of the year, the lengthy trail and the flat, wooded terrain make this a good hike for those who like to walk far and fast. Special considerations: Use insect repellent during summer."
