Steep Rock Preserve: Steep Rock Loop Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"A summit to a sumptuous view, a suspension bridge, a deep forest, and a burbling river make this a must-do trail. Today you can enjoy the 974-acre Steep Rock Preserve on this loop trail, which leads to a splendid viewpoint at the Steep Rock summit—a fairly challenging climb to the top at an elevation of 776 feet, but not nearly as difficult as Lion’s Head or any of the Hudson Highlands summits.
From here you can enjoy a classic view of the original 100 heavily forested acres that Rossiter chose to preserve and for miles beyond, a survey of the Washington area with the region’s iconic emerald hills and fertile valleys."
