Although you can see a few houses from its shores, Wood Creek Pond exudes a northern wilderness feel, especially on the north end where the red spruce Holleran Swamp begins. Look for nesting Canada goose and other waterfowl species here. Surface vegetation can make paddling slow, especially in summer.

It was a long way out, but well worth the drive. It was a beautiful small pond, lots of birds and wildlife. It was breezy and the leaves were just starting to turn. The only negative was someone out in the woods nearby was shooting a shotgun every 15 minutes towards the end of the trip. But overall a great trip.
