Rocky Neck State Park Trail

Rocky Neck State Park Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"In the heat of a summer day, hiking the tame Four Mile River Trail to the beach can be a great way to combine hiking with swimming, wading, or sunbathing. Even in cooler weather, Rocky Neck’s seashore can be enjoyed for the distinct pleasures it offers your senses.

In the spring, watch at the estuary as the fresh water from Four Mile River rushes to meet the salty ocean water of Long Island Sound. Look at the cranes and herons wandering among the cattails in autumn. See the fishermen reeling in striped bass, flounder, or mackerel in the early dawn or at dusk."

A nice walk but not very challenging or technical. It was a good way to kill an hour and work up a little thirst but that's about it. If you had kids, this might be a good trail to use as it's easy and there are the pavilion with bathrooms about halfway through the walk if needed.
