Branford Lakes and Stony Creek

Branford Lakes and Stony Creek Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Branford is a shoreline town a few miles east of New Haven, perhaps best known for being home to the Thimble Islands, an archipelago of more than one hundred small islands in Long Island Sound.

This ride follows the water into Stony Creek, a cute waterfront community, and then loops back through the tranquil Branford Supply Ponds. Start on the Branford Town Green, on Main Street, heading toward a left turn onto Kirkham Street.

Things to see: Thimble Islands, Stony Creek village, Branford Supply Pond"

The best part of this ride was the side trip to see the Thimble Islands. Otherwise, it is not much. Too much traffic and the shoulder is too narrow in many places.
