Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Hamden, nestled between the city of New Haven and the bucolic, rural communities of Bethany and Woodbridge, combines the best elements of city dwelling with a small-town feel and rural countryside views. The town has many popular cycling routes, along slower streets with wide shoulders. This ride covers one of the principal routes, starting in the walkable East Rock neighborhood in New Haven, and circling behind Sleeping Giant State Park through a lovely orchard.

This ride starts at the intersection of Linden Avenue and Orange Street, by a popular local deli and Italian market. Start the ride in the separated bike lane along the parking lane on Orange Street. Orange Street is a fairly slow neighborhood street with steady traffic."
