"Casting a giant U-shaped hook through the central Connecticut countryside, the Mattabesett Trail is one of the signature long-distance trunk trails in the Connecticut blue trail system.

It is also one of the Connecticut 400 Club trails, a life list of major trails in the state. Together with the Monadnock and Metacomet Trails, the Mattabesett completes the three Ms that make up the New England National Scenic Trail."
