Wolf Rock

Wolf Rock Professional Review and Guide

"This is a good, not-too-strenuous walk with gentle inclines. It follows a portion of the blue-blazed Nipmuck Trail and passes Wolf Rock, a huge round glacial boulder perched on the edge of a 40-foot cliff in Mansfield.

A connecting yellow-blazed trail makes it possible to do a loop of about 1.5 miles that includes this high rocky spot with its views of woods and fields."

For a beginner it is a great trail, very well marked and a really good area to overlook parts of the valley. Would highly recomend this trail

A pleasant, relaxing loop. The cliff area always seems to be busy with rock climbers, but the remainder of the area is quiet. Continue south on the blue (Nipmuck) trail to some wetlands that look like they should be a prime spot for spotting wildlife, although we've seen nothing memorable on our two visits so far. Maybe the dog barks too much.
