Torrington Loop

Torrington Loop Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Torrington is a charming little city in Litchfield County. Despite a catastrophic flood in 1955, the historic downtown is still home to the largest concentration of art deco buildings in the state.

Some of the roads can be slightly busy; Torrington is at the center of several regional transportation routes. Most of the riding is on pleasant, lower-volume roads, with one exception near the end of the ride where Winsted Road approaches the edge of downtown and a built-up, car-centric commercial area.

Things to see: The Warner Theater, other historic art deco buildings downtown, the Naugatuck River, Coe Memorial Park, Stillwater Pond State Park, Burr Pond, and the Still River Greenway."
