Ten Mile River and Hill

Ten Mile River and Hill Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"A swim in the Ten Mile River and a view of the Housatonic Valley entice you to undertake this moderate hike. You will also walk along the Housatonic River, looking at its numerous small cascades and waterfalls and enjoying the shade of the many hemlock trees. The hike starts close to Bulls Bridge over the Housatonic River.

It is one of the few remaining covered bridges in Connecticut, and one of only two that still carry traffic. It is worth taking the few extra steps over to see it, and if the water is not running high, the river just below the bridge may lure you into an after-hike swim."
