Sleeping Giant

Sleeping Giant Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"From the parking lot, where trail maps may be available at a kiosk, follow the narrow, paved road straight to the far end of the picnic area. As the road begins to swing left, a blue-blazed trail leaves northwest.

Follow the blue blazes around a moderately steep hill cloaked in evergreens toward Axel Shop Pond. Turn right and immediately cross a wooden bridge over a small stream. In a few yards, Blue Trail, now called Quinnipiac Trail, swings left (northwest) and tackles the short but steep climb up the giant’s elbow (one of the unique aspects of climbing the Sleeping Giant is that you have to get used to climbing cliffs and ledges named for body parts)."
