"A fun backcountry getaway close to Woodland Park. F.S. 311 ends at overlook of front range. First part of road crosses private land including a U.S. Air Force installation. Warning signs apply to land on each side of road, not the road itself. Travel only on marked Forest Service roads. Keep moving until you cross Pike National Forest boundary at 2.4 miles. Trail not recommended for oversize vehicles. ATVs on forest roads only. Narrow and washed out in places with tight brush and tree branches in the way as you near the end of 307 and 311. Suitable for smaller stock, high clearance 4x4s. Possible paint scratches."

Great place to go offroad in your Jeep or other 4 X 4. It’s a fund and beautiful drive, but doesn’t have any difficult grades. It’s a perfect spot to spend a morning or afternoon surrounded by nature in the gorgeous Colorado outdoors. It connects to several other trails as well, so you could easily make a full day of it. One of my favorite spots near Colorado Springs!

This is an easy trail. It has a few bumps, but only one or two places that four wheel drive is required. The ground clearance of a 4x4 is useful. The trail gets very narrow near the end, a full size 4x4 will get scratched. The area is beautiful.

Please drive slowly at the beginning of the trail as it passes through private land and near several houses. I'd hate to see this trail closed because of disrespectful off-roaders.
