Ormes Peak

Ormes Peak Professional Review and Guide

"A stunning view of Pikes Peak can be enjoyed from the summit for your modest effort. Trail: Intermittent and faint. This mountain is named after Manley Ormes, the father of Robert M. Ormes who was the original editor of the frequently revised Guide to the Colorado Mountains, in continuous publication for half-a-century. The elder Ormes mapped some of the area and helped found the Saturday Knights, a group that hiked every Saturday in the Pikes Peak area.

Proceed up and due north through the sparse trees. A faint trail is intermittent to the top, but the hike is easily done without any trail. The unmarked summit lies at the northwestern edge of a relatively flat area. The view of Pikes Peak from here is extraordinary. Return by the ascent route."
