West Grouse Creek Trail

West Grouse Creek Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The trail up West Grouse Creek wanders through lodgepole forest, meadows, and aspen forest then enters thicker spruce and fir forest the higher you hike. About 2 miles up the trail, lodgepole pines killed by mountain pine beetles have been cut to prevent trees from falling on hikers on the trail.

West Grouse Creek occasionally appears along the trail, a small but pretty creek with mossy rocks and little cascades, lined with wildflowers and bushes. The hike has two suggested turnarounds: one at the ruins of a cabin and the other near a boulder field where you can enjoy lunch next to the creek."
