Missouri Lakes

Missouri Lakes Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Beautiful Missouri Lakes are nestled high in a valley in the Holy Cross Wilderness beneath Savage Peak and Missouri Pass. The sights along the trail change constantly as it wanders through forest, over slabs of rocks, across crystal clear streams, along meadows of colorful wildflowers, past waterfalls, and near some interesting minicanyons.

The journey to the lakes makes a good day hike or an overnight backpack. Because the first lake you come to along the trail is only 3.1 miles in, the Missouri Lakes are a popular destination with four lakes and smaller tarns to explore. Two shorter options are also included here."
