North Colony Creek

North Colony Creek Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"A longer trail to several very scenic lakes. Parts of the access road barely deserve to be classified as a road. Early in the season, runoff seems to use the road as much as the creek, and the snowpack can linger below the trailhead into June. Be prepared to stop and proceed on foot in spring or fall when the road conditions will require it.

The trail thins above the tree line and becomes steeper, staying to the right (north) of the creek up to the lower lake. Continue up the North Colony Creek valley past smaller lakes up into the upper basin. Camping is available along the valley and in the upper basin. No camping is permitted within 300 feet of lakes and 100 feet of streams in wilderness areas."
