Music Pass / Sand Creek Lakes Professional Review and Guide

"Who wouldn’t want to walk to a place with a name like Music Pass? The pass was given this poetic name because some claim they can hear musical sounds when the wind blows over the surrounding mountains. Even if you miss the legendary music, the hike across Music Pass to the lakes below can be a memorable endeavor.

Many years ago it was possible to drive a 4WD vehicle all the way from the Grape Creek Trailhead to the summit of Music Pass, but that is no longer possible. Motor vehicles are still allowed on the first 2.9 miles of the road, as far as the Music Pass Trailhead, but the final 1.4 miles of the old Music Pass Road have long since been blocked off and converted to a foot path."
