The Crags Campground

The Crags Campground Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Crags is an appropriate name for this campground. It is balanced on the steep slopes of the Never Summer Mountains. The treeless, granite precipices are not far above you and your vista of Diamond Peaks. The actual Nokhu Crags are behind you and out of sight from the campground. The camping season is short, and nights are always cool here. So reserve a piece of your valuable time in July or August and see what the Colorado State Forest has to offer.

This forest actually abuts Rocky Mountain National Park, so that ought to give you an idea of the level of scenery here. North Park, the vast expanse of meadowland in Jackson County, is known as the moose capital of Colorado. Plan to see a few of those large critters and a few more animals if you explore the trails of Colorado State Forest."
