Upper Piney River Trail

Upper Piney River Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Piney River, fed by snow that cloaks the spectacular peaks of the Gore Range, flows through a beautiful valley edged by aspen on the north and spruce and fir on the south. The first 1.3 miles of the Upper Piney River Trail undulates gently through meadows with good spots for lunch, relaxation, and great views.

Bring water because the creek is far from the trail along this hike. Until you reach the Wilderness boundary, the trail passes through the private Piney River on Ranch on an easement."
