A fun, challenging ride along the west face of the Continental Divide (does not cross the divide). Makes a great loop returning via easier Cumberland Pass, Trail #16. Historic stops along the route include Tincup Cemetery and the New Gold Cup Mine. The latter features interesting buildings and mining equipment. The rail measures 6.7 miles and takes about 2 hours. Add another hour to return to Tincup over Cumberland Pass. Parts of this trail follow low areas along Middle Willow Creek, so rocks are often wet and slippery. The trail climbs quickly to Napoleon Pass above 12,000 feet, then descends a steep rocky road back to Cumberland Pass Road 765.
