Blue Lake via Three Forks

Blue Lake via Three Forks Professional Review and Guide

"The hike to beautiful Blue Lake, located in a high alpine setting, is just as stunning as the destination itself. First you’ll hike through the lovely realms of the Conejos River drainage, then you’ll cross the open meadows of the El Rito Azul drainage. Look for wildflowers and animal life.

From the trailhead head southwest along the Conejos River via Three Forks Trail 712. You’ll travel through trees at times, but mostly you’ll be in a wide-open meadow. It’s an easy hike to 1.9 miles and a spot called Three Forks, where the North and Middle Forks of the Conejos River come together with El Rito Azul."
