Picayne and Placer Gulches

Picayne and Placer Gulches Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"These are two of the lesser traveled trails in the area. Placer is very stark and desolate, a contrast to the forested beauty of Picayne. The route is fairly narrow and steep in places with several rocky water crossings.

Attractions include: remote route passes interesting mine buildings, beautiful high-elevation views, and several side roads to explore. Fun area for ATVs. High shelf road may be intimidating to anyone afraid of heights. The road is wide in most places except near the start where it can be difficult to pass."
