Rampart Range Road

Rampart Range Road Professional Review and Guide

"This is a wide, normally well-maintained, unpaved 2WD road. The road may be corrugated and suffer some erosion, but it can be safely traversed by a normal passenger car in good conditions. However, a number of more-difficult side roads make this a good spot to gain 4WD experience.

The route travels through pine forest with occasional aspen groves and past many interesting, large rock formations. Near the end of the route, the rocks turn to red as you approach the Garden of the Gods, with its 250-million-year-old sedimentary formations."
