Indian Creek Trail

Indian Creek Trail Professional Review and Guide

"This trail takes longer than you think, even though the mileage and elevation gain are relatively modest. This narrow trail is overgrown with vegetation which makes for slow and careful going, as you follow Bear Greek gently downhill. More trails will be opening soon, as a complete loop is being formed. Terrain: Smooth hardpack and pine needles, occasional deadfall.

From the parking lot, pedal down the gravel road through the equestrian campground and find the start of the single track. The single track trail descends along Bear Creek, crossing it several times during the ride. Many water bars are encountered along the way. Cross the creek under the powerline (2.0), and continue a short distance where the trail abruptly turns right and climbs away from the creek (2.2)."

The first 2-3 miles of this trail are pretty sweet. It's tight and somewhat rocky single track with several switchbacks and a couple of logs across the trail that you can jump if you're up to it. Watch the log bridge (log acrosse the trail with logs built up on the front or back side to create a bridge of sorts) on the way back downhill after a steep short hilly section. If you don't stay back behind the seat you can endo! AFter the single track there's a lot of jeep road type trail and other connecting trails. The way back down is nice, but it's over in an exhilarting 10-15 minutes. This trail keeps you on your toes most of the time. Enjoy
