The Colorado Trail: Colorado Highway-114 to Saguache Park Road Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This is not one of the most breathtakingly beautiful segments of the Colorado Trail. It is ranch country and grazing cattle are common. The grades average less than 100 feet per mile. There is not much shade and less water. However, most of the walking is easy. From this segment’s start, Cochetopa Creek is the next reliable source of water, and it’s 18 miles ahead.
Don’t bypass any water source, just because it is small. Keep your water bottles topped off whenever possible. At the end of this segment, there is a turn that many hikers report having missed. Pay close attention to the description below, especially after you turn south on Saguache Park Road"
