"Towering above Brainard Lake, this high ridge can be a fun adventure and offers a grand and unique view of the majestic Indian Peaks and Longs Peak. This climb is best attempted on a calm, warm day because Niwot Ridge and Mountain are often windswept. Always bring extra layers. There are two approaches to Niwot Ridge: a trail from the Jean Lunning Trail on the south side of Long Lake, or the University of Colorado Research Center Road near the Rainbow Lakes end of the Sourdough Trail."
