Hawk Creek Overlook

Hawk Creek Overlook Professional Review and Guide

"A day hike through timbered foothills. This hike covers the well-maintained northern segment of the Lily Lake Trail and leads to a high overlook above the pristine Hawk Creek valley. Beyond the overlook, the trail descends toward Hawk Creek, where it becomes lost in a tangle of overgrown vegetation.

If you don’t have four-wheel drive, you will need to park at the north end of the Redstone commercial district and hike the road for 1 mile to reach the East Creek Trailhead. The hike begins on the East Creek Trail, which climbs heartily through lush woodlands of cottonwood and conifers."

Great trail. Well marked/maintained, shady, and beautiful country. Limited views out to surrounding area before you reach overlook, but forest trail next to creek is beautiful. 4WD road to trail head does not require a jeep but is narrow in spots and favors a smaller SUV.
