    Troublesome Pass Loop Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This is a lightly used route (except in hunting season) that is not difficult but does involve a number of small creek crossings as it winds through a mature lodgepole pine forest interspersed with mountain meadows and small willow bottoms. Numerous channels are cut across the road to control erosion. Lengthy sections of shelf road are quite wide and have a sound surface. The area has a network of side roads, many presumably used for logging as considerable reforestation is evident. Despite the number of side roads, navigation should not be a problem.

Special Attractions: Easy 4WD trail; Varied scenery and road conditions; Many side roads. High-clearance vehicles are preferred, but not necessary. This trail is dirt roads, but may have rocks, grades, water crossings, or ruts that make clearance a concern in a normal passenger vehicle. The trail is fairly wide, so that passing is possible at almost any point along the trail. Mud is not a concern under normal weather conditions."
