El Diente Peak

El Diente Peak Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"El Diente is one of the most intimidating and spectacular peaks in Colorado. In Spanish it translates to “the Tooth,” and while this great peak does in fact resemble a big, jagged tooth, you can probably conjure up more-terrifying mental images that more aptly describe this beast. El Diente is a mountain of many accolades.

It is the westernmost fourteener in the state, one of the hardest and most dangerous fourteeners to climb, and one of the most menacing peaks in the Lower 48. Anyone who has ever approached Navajo Basin from the Woods Lake Trailhead knows exactly what we are talking about, and the initial view you get of El Diente from the Rock of Ages saddle is no slouch either."
