Williams Creek to the Continental Divide

Williams Creek to the Continental Divide Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"A wonderful multiday hike to above tree line, with the possibility of seeing wildlife along the way. It’s a great way to gain entry into the Weminuche and then connect with one of many other trails in the area.

After signing in at the trail register, gradually climb along Williams Creek Trail 587, entering the wilderness after 0.2 mile. You’ll soon climb moderately—sometimes very steeply—to reach a nice view of Williams Creek and its unique rock formations. Pagosa Springs has a number of private campgrounds and motels. You must pass Bridge, Williams Creek, Teal, and Cimarrona Campgrounds, all national forest facilities, en route to the trailhead. All are fee areas with water and vault toilets."
