Palisade Meadows

Palisade Meadows Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Hikers will enjoy wildflowers and wildlife on this path along both Williams and Indian Creeks. The trip makes for a long day hike or a two-day backpack, and it provides access to other parts of the wilderness.

After signing in at the trailhead register, hike Williams Creek Trail 587 at a gradual grade. You’ll enter the Weminuche Wilderness after 0.2 mile. Next you’ll climb—sometimes at a very steep grade—to a nice view of Williams Creek and its unique rock formations. After 1.1 miles you’ll start to switchback even higher above the creek. You’ll cross one stream at 1.2 miles and another at 1.4 miles. You’ll reach the Indian Creek Trail 588 junction at 2 miles."
