Opal Lake Trailhead to Leche Creek Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Bring your camera: Colorado columbine and other wildflowers grace this route, and you may see elk and deer. Opal Lake is a popular stop, as it offers good fishing and hosts a variety of birdlife.

Sign in at the register, and take Trail 564. Although the grade is moderate most of the time, you will find an occasional steep section. Pass by a swamp-like area and proceed through the trees, a mixed forest of firs, spruce, and aspens. The forest floor supports an array of lush plants."
