Flattop Mountain

Flattop Mountain Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The trail to Flattop Mountain leads through lush woods where wildflowers are abundant. You may see animal life. Best of all, the views from on top are magnificent. Along the way hikers can make a quick side trip to Opal Lake, a popular place for fishing and viewing birdlife.

The Forest Service asks that you not sign in at the register if you are hiking to the top of Flattop Mountain. The spur trail leading to the summit is not a system trail, and the Forest Service typically does not promote nonsystem trails. Begin hiking up Trail 564, which offers a moderate grade most of the time, though you will find an occasional steep section."
