I hiked this short trail in early June and the description is right on-short but steep. There was still a small amount of snow on the trail as you reached the plateau just before the lake and I got snowed on briefly but then it cleared out for a spectacular hike. I decided to skip the trail heading back and took the drainage to the south and just followed it out to the Native Lakes TH. It was a little marshy but overall was quite enjoyable. Next time I'll take a fishing pole along and try my luck. Excellent day hike.
