The Morrison Figure-8

Morrison, Colorado

The Morrison Figure-8 Professional Review and Guide

"Two rides in one! A pair of hilly, meandering mini-loops near Morrison combine to form one delightful ride. This route follows several favorite roads and bike paths.

This route actually looks more like a mutant Fukushima buttery than an 8. There are really two nice little rides here. Both are fairly hilly. The first loop, through Red Rocks, goes out of its way to find the most challenging (paved) hills in the park—but when it comes right down to it, there are only a few hills, and regionally speaking, they aren’t that tough. Ship Rock Road will make you take notice, no doubt about it, but it tops out before it can do any serious damage. The same could be said for the little Mount Carbon climb on the other half of the butterfly: It’s a grunt, but a short grunt."
