Powderhound Trail Professional Review and Guide
"How about a fun diversion from the traditional hike in the woods? Head for the mountains in winter, strap on a pair of snowshoes, and experience the high country’s quiet, white solitude. In the high reaches of the San Isabel National Forest, a playful web of trails drapes right atop the Continental Divide.
This short snowshoe hike makes use of both the Tree Line and Powderhound Trails to make one terrific loop that accommodates all abilities of snowshoers. The path wanders along two celebrated long-distance trails, the Continental Divide Trail and the Colorado Trail, as it climbs right over the Divide and makes a quick and fun descent through trees and valleys. It’s a short, but rewarding trip, and is a perfect opportunity to get out there, especially when the snow is piling up."
