Prime Cut Professional Reviews and Guides

"This trail offers great singletrack riding through a high desert environment and an excellent introduction ride to the Book Cliffs area.

The Prime Cut singletrack is one of the finest in the area. The downhill back to the parking area is sure to leave a smile on your face. Prime Cut is also the starting point for three other rides in the area. This trail is located 8 miles north of Fruita. Tread: 0.4 mile on doubletrack and 5 miles on singletrack."

The trails out at Bookcliffs are amazing. Ribbon like singletrack that has broad range of appeal. Joe's is really unique to the point of being almost surreal. It seems many more trails should be like this but just are not. Pair up with Chutes and Ladders or one of the many other options. Not overly difficult out here but just flat out fun.

To put it simply... this is the yellow brick road heading into the Emerald City. In other words... this is a great slice of single-track that leads you into the wonderful world of the Bookcliffs! Many rides out here to explore and all should be. The creators of these trails appreciate preservation. The cryptobiotic soils and other delicacies are all interwoven in a fragile, high-desert canvas. This area provides rides of a lifetime. Enjoy!
