Flat Tops Trail Scenic Byway: Meeker to Yampa Professional Review and Guide
"The 82-mile-long Flat Tops Trail, a National Forest Scenic Byway, traverses the scenic upper White River valley and crosses Ripple Creek and Dunckley passes on the wild White River Plateau. The White River Plateau, part of Colorado’s plateau geographic province lies just west of the main bulk of the Rocky Mountains between the Yampa and Colorado rivers.
The eighty-two-mile-long Flat Tops Trail scenic drive, beginning in Meeker west of the plateau, follows the White River’s deep gash eastward almost to the heart of the Flat Tops before swerving northeast over Ripple Creek and Dunckley passes to the Yampa River’s broad upper valley.
